KSA #11-- Assessment
Description: the purposes of student assessment. They know how to assess the range of learning objectives by selecting and developing a variety of classroom and large scale assessment techniques and instruments. They know how to analyse the results of classroom and large scale assessment instruments including provincial assessment instruments, and how to use the results for the ultimate benefit of students
When it comes to using assments in my classroom a wise once told me assessment comes down to two important questions:
1: How do I assess students so that I know what each of them knows from the Program of Studies, and how can I take them further, help them grow and learn more?
2: How can I fulfill my legal obligation to effectively report, with accuracy, what my students know?

Formative Assessment Used:
-Verbal and written questioning -Exit slips (written and Kinaesthetic) -Checklists -Formative Quizzes -One-on-one interviews -Knowledge application games -Response Logs -etc. |
Summative Assessments Used:
-Performance Tasks -Quizzes -Lapbooking (Meteghan Lapbook to the right) -Rubrics -Checkists -etc. |
